So, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,892/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The food scene is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Midtown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is tough
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
