Why I chose Downey over bigger cities

You can expect to pay around $1,892 for rent here. It's a a mid-size city city with about 112K people. Poverty rate is 7.0%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thanks for reading. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Came here for family and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Dallas it's pretty good.
