Why I chose Doylestown over bigger cities

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and You can expect to pay around $1,754 for rent here. The median home value here is around $491,700, which is pretty steep. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is underrated. Good luck with whatever you decide..
