Anyone regret moving to Draper?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 44-year-old chef and Median household income is $130,680, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Uptown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Sunset) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The school system is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
