Hey folks, Average temperature is around 70--F, so it's warm year-round. Rent is about $1,285/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much stable but now it's excellent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2019 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is challenging in most areas.
