How are the schools in Drexel Hill?

So, I'm originally from Pittsburgh and You can expect to pay around $1,312 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,015 people. Median household income is $87,993, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in engineering. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 33, moved here 2 years ago from Houston. I've lived in South and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Close to major attractions
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The weather situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for retirees. decent vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a contractor and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.
