Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 30,015, Drexel Hill is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely tough and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (South) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
