Raising a family in Drexel Hill -thoughts?

Random thought, Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's surprisingly good.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Phoenix about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is average.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
