Alright, I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $239,900 on average. Rent is about $1,312/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Does this match your experience? The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 50, moved here 1 years ago from LA. I've lived in Pine Hills and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The cultural scene situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Dallas it's pretty good.
