Cheapest neighborhoods in Dublin?

Hey everyone, I'm retired and Rent is about $3,174/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. Any help is appreciated. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 12 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Diego about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been here 1 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.
