Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2020. It's a a smaller city city with about 70,542 people. Median household income is $205,046, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What are your go-to spots? Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Portland it's underrated.

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The job market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Charlotte about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
