Best restaurants in Dublin?

So, I work in engineering and I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Seattle about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely solid and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Eastside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
