Job hunting in Dublin -tips?

Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $155,282, which feels pretty solid for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (South) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 9 years. Moved from San Diego for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Chain restaurants dominate. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
