Rent in Dublin getting crazy

The median home value here is around $514,900, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $155,282, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Dublin sits at 52.4 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,596 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Is this normal for Dublin? The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely average and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
