What to expect moving to Dublin?

Hi all, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $806/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The healthcare scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I work in manufacturing here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is tough. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Fairview for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cost of living scene is tough

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2015 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 5 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
