Unpopular opinion about DuBois
Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 5.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 7,449 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Should I be concerned? The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
