Dubuque in the winter -how bad?

Random thought, You can expect to pay around $943 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
