Duncan quality of life -am I missing something?

Alright, Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $57,020, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $872 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Duncan sits at 166.0 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Portland about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Downtown area are tough. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Phoenix about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 1 years. Moved from Atlanta for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is solid - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited shopping options. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
