Is Duncan getting better or worse?

Curious what people think. We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $57,020 in Duncan. It's a a small town city with about 22,872 people. Poverty rate is 14.1%, which is around average. You can expect to pay around $872 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Eastside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The job market scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Miami it's challenging.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The school system is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Portland about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.
