Should I move to Dundalk or stay in Boston?

We have two kids and Homes are going for about $199,600 on average. Poverty rate is 16.6%, which is higher than I expected. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely solid and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Riverside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Raleigh it's tough.
