Why I chose Dundalk over bigger cities
First post here. I'm a remote worker and It's a a smaller city city with about 65,441 people. Rent is about $1,412/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Dundalk sits at 1,338.5 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.
