Is Dunedin a good place to live?
Curious what people think. I've been here for 15 years and Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. It's a a smaller city city with about 36,060 people. With a population of 36,060, Dunedin is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $341,700 on average. Rent is about $1,523/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
Pros:
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Strong sense of community
Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Boring for young people
- Chain restaurants dominate
Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
