Dunmore is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, I've been here for 16 years and With a population of 14,123, Dunmore is a small town. Household incomes average around $75,632 in Dunmore. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
