I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from LA about 9 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much reasonable but now it's decent.
