What surprised you most about Dunwoody?

OK so I'm single, late 30s, and Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Dunwoody sits at 128.3 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Charlotte about 11 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Midtown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..
