Freelancing from Dupont -experience?

I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 4.7%, which is pretty low. With a population of 2,545, Dupont is a small town. Rent is about $970/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Baltimore it's better than expected.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 4 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
