OK so I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. TIA! The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 6 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Oak Park area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
