Just moved to Durham, any tips?

Hey, I'm single, late 50s, and Household incomes average around $79,234 in Durham. Homes are going for about $355,300 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Does this match your experience? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I work in construction here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is tough. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
