Moving to Durham with kids -good idea?

Alright, I'm a teacher here and It's a a small town city with about 10,577 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much developing but now it's average.
