Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $51,846 in Dyersburg. It's a a small town city with about 16,075 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The traffic scene is tough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 12 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
