Best neighborhoods to rent in Eagan?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Household incomes average around $107,486 in Eagan. Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thanks in advance! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The food scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Eastside area are average. Kids love it here.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 34, moved here 11 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Downtown and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The school system situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for remote workers. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
