Eagan in the winter -how bad?

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Eagan sits at 58.4 per 100K. With a population of 68,158, Eagan is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Austin about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..
