Job market in Eagle Grove for tech?

Hey folks, I relocated for work and Median household income is $58,458, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 20.0%, which is higher than I expected. You can expect to pay around $991 for rent here. Household incomes average around $58,458 in Eagle Grove. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Eagle Grove? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Westside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Midtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is tough

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much affordable but now it's hit or miss.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Diego about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
