Best neighborhoods to rent in Eagle Pass?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 40s, and Household incomes average around $54,952 in Eagle Pass. You can expect to pay around $794 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. With a population of 28,186, Eagle Pass is a smaller city. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
Is this normal for Eagle Pass? Thanks in advance! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 8 years. Moved from Atlanta for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Chain restaurants dominate. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
