Eagle Pass in the winter -how bad?

Hello, I'm single, late 50s, and With a population of 28,186, Eagle Pass is a smaller city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Any advice would be great. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I work in education here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is tough. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for family and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The housing market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 5 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..
