What surprised you most about Eagle Pass?

Hey, I've been here for 10 years and You can expect to pay around $794 for rent here. Rent is about $794/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in East for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The pet-friendliness scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Pittsburgh it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 7 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
