Affordable areas near Eagleton Village?

Hi all, Homes are going for about $169,700 on average. Does this match your experience?

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.
