Best kept secrets of East Aurora, NY

Random thought, Homes are going for about $334,500 on average. Rent is about $1,116/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (East) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great craft beer places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I work in real estate here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is challenging. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in South for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The traffic scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
