Working in East Bakersfield -salaries realistic?

Hello, You can expect to pay around $1,005 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to San Diego it's challenging.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
