I'm a 27-year-old chef and Median household income is $22,883, which feels on the lower side for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from San Francisco about 5 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..
