East Franklin job market vs San Diego

Hi all, I work in real estate and With a population of 10,281, East Franklin is a small town. Rent is about $1,794/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Mexican places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 6 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Eastside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
