Moving to East Grand Rapids with kids -good idea?
Hey, With a population of 11,394, East Grand Rapids is a small town. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thoughts? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
