Why I chose East Greenbush over bigger cities

My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $115,189, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 6,562, East Greenbush is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is improving in most areas.
