Housing market in East Griffin right now

Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,162/month for a decent place. Median household income is $44,219, which feels on the lower side for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely improving and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Old Town) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely underrated and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Eastside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Riverside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Pine Hills area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
