Not sure if this has been asked before, but You can expect to pay around $1,184 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 11 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
