Thinking about relocating to East Hartford from New York
Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $215,400 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.
No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
