Freelancing from East Haven -experience?

Hey everyone, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,454/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is decent in most areas.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The weather is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
