Worst things about East Hemet nobody talks about

Random thought, I've been here for 5 years and Household incomes average around $80,621 in East Hemet. Poverty rate is 17.4%, which is higher than I expected. Median household income is $80,621, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 57, moved here 8 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Riverside and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The outdoor recreation situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for families. tough vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $40K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
