Random thought, Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

I'm a nurse and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much stable but now it's excellent.
