Best coffee shops in East Honolulu?

You can expect to pay around $3,249 for rent here. The median home value here is around $1,172,300, which is pretty steep. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
